چکیده

We evaluated the effects of zoledronic acid (ZOL) on human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) and umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) associated with wound healing in oral soft tissues. HGFs HUVECs were divided into two groups: a culture media control group exposed to ZOL (50 μM). Cell proliferation was measured after 2, 4, 6, 8 days. The migration ability for each experiment using assay. apoptosis rate confirmed Culture supernatants collected from experimental vascular growth factor (VEGF) production enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Further, expression level VEGF-A compared real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. abilities both be suppressed by addition ZOL, resulting apoptosis. ELISA revealed that quantity VEGF produced significantly higher than until 2 days ZOL. In HGFs, mRNA levels intracellular increased demonstrating VEGF. contrast, HUVECs, although endogenous considerably decreased supernatant, indicating possibility abnormalities autocrine functions or signal transduction exogenous These data suggest utility therapeutic approaches directed toward signaling improve medication-related osteonecrosis jaw soft-tissue healing.

Anti-angiogenic Effects of Metformin, an AMPK Activator, on Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells and on Granulation Tissue in Rat

Objective(s)Metformin is well known for activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK activation inhibits mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) as a key signaling process in cell proliferation. Recent epidemiological studies demonstrate that metformin lowers the risk for several types of cancer in diabetic patients. Concerning the critical role of angiogenesis in the incidence and prog...

Effects of alpha-mangostin on memory senescence induced by high glucose in human umbilical vein endothelial cells

Objective(s): Hyperglycemia induces cellular senescence in various body cells, such as vascular endothelial cells. Since the vessels are highly distributed in the body and nourish all tissues, vascular damages cause diabetes complications such as kidney failure and visual impairment. Alpha-mangostin is a xanthone found in mangosteen fruit with protective effects in met...

Environmental 50Hz Magnetic Fields Can Increase Viability of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC)

Introduction Over the last decades, considerable levels of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) have been characterized in the living environment. Recent epidemiological studies on occupational and residential exposure to EMF have shown that 50/60 Hz fields, known as extremely low frequencies (ELF), have various biological effects, such as angiogenesis. This study aimed to investigate the effect of en...

isolation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells using kiwifruit actinidin

introduction: proteolytic enzymes, specially collagenase, are used to digest extracellular matrix, cells isolation and primary culture. it is important to find new sources of plant or animal protease instead of bacterial or tissue collagenase. in the present research, actinidin, a plentiful protease in kiwifriut, was used to isolate human umbilical vein endothelial cells. materials and methods:...

Hyperglycemia- Induced NF-κB Activation Increases microRNA-146a Expression in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells

Background & objectives: Nuclear Factor kappa B (NF-κB), a master switch transcription factor, plays a critical role in the progression and development of hyperglycemia-induced microangiopathy. Hyperglycemia activates NF-κB, and subsequently increases pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β leading to development of inflammation. Some new studies have revealed the involvement o...
